Shinsoo Kingdom
The Shinsoo kingdom lies in the southern part of the continent. The people who live here make their living from trade. Under the rule of Yoon-Yoing, after the fall of the empire, the eastern Shinsoo trade links quickly regained the prosperity they enjoy today. But the people are locked in constant struggle with the westerners, in a conflict that led to the closing of the trade route. When they recognised the threat of the Metin Stones, the merchants took up arms.
Their aim is to stop the western attacks, reopen the trade route and unite the whole empire under their own rule.
Chunjo Kingdom
The Chunjo kingdom lies in the western part of the continent. The theocratic state is ruled by spiritual leaders. Its founding is tied to the name of Yoon-Young, the nephew of the former emperor. Yoon-Young proposed countermeasures again and again, but no one listened. So he led his followers into an uprising. Since the fall of the empire, Chunjo has remained in open rivalry with the East and in constant war with the South.
Its people strive to take control of the whole continent in order to put an end to the growing power of the Metin Stone.
Jinno Kingdom
The Jinno kingdom stretches across the eastern part of the continent. The empire rests on military power and rules a people of an aggressive, warlike nature. Jinno is ruled by Ee-Ryoong, the son of the last emperor. With the help of the military power in his hands, he sees it as his mission to raise the empire of old back on its feet.
In the Jinno kingdom, the importance of the Metin Stones is not acknowledged at the level of the state. In secret, however, Ee-Ryoong tries to use the destructive power of the Metin Stones for his own military ends.
What does your choice mean?
- The choice applies to your whole account. All the characters you create on the same account are in the same kingdom; it is not chosen per character. If you are going to play with friends, choose the same kingdom: the only way to change it later is to open a separate account.
- You cannot teleport to a player in another kingdom. The game's own warning says so clearly; the kingdom border is a real restriction.
- You get your own starting areas. Shinsoo: Yongan Region, Seungryong Valley, Yayang Region. Chunjo: Joan Region, Imji Valley, Bokjung Region. Jinno: Pyungmoo Region, Bangsan Valley, Bakra Region.
- You get your own language. Every kingdom has a passive "Language" skill (Lisan): Shinsoo Language, Chunjo Language, Jinno Language.
- It does not affect your class choice. All four classes are available in all three kingdoms; the kingdom only decides your flag and your starting area.
Colours
The game refers to the kingdoms by their colours, and character names appear in that colour too: Shinsoo red, Chunjo yellow, Jinno blue. In the server source they appear literally as the "Red Kingdom", the "Yellow Kingdom" and the "Blue Kingdom".
